My oldest known Farmer ancestor is Thomas Farmer. He was born Sept 8, 1744 in Virginia. The first records of Thomas appear in some land deeds for property on the Otter River in Bedford Co., Virginia.
Thomas has 14 children. Jane Baber is the mother of 11 of the children. Thomas's first wife and the mother of his first 3 children is not known.
Thomas's oldest son, William, moved to Green Co. KY around 1805, with his wife Mary Drury. They had 10 children. William died around 1815. It is believed that he & Mary are buried on the old Sylvester Newton farm in present day Taylor Co. KY. The cemetery that William is buried in was destroyed several years ago by the farm's owner.
