Note: Revolutionary War Soldier John Bright, baptised Johannes Brecht,January 18, 1756 in York County, Pennsylvania, died after April 07,1828 and before June 1828, in Augusta Co, Virginia. He first marriedSusannah Kleiner nee Fulwider, and second Susannah Wiseman. John wasthe son of George Adam (1731-1804) and Mary Catherine Bright. (Thename Ann Faucett also shows up as a wife in some records)

The children of John Bright by both of his wives, were baptised as"Brecht" at St. John's Reformed Church, near Middlebrook, in AugustaCounty, VA. This is the only place one can find the German spellingof the name in Augusta County. John was the father of elevenchildren, nine by this first wife, and two by his second wife. Takenfrom a submission by Harold Bright of Texas.

John Bright had a land grant in Augusta Co VA on 12 July 1809 for 80acres of land "on the waters of James River and between the lines ofhis other lands."

Sarah Headly24 Sept 1814 in Staunton, VA (she b. in 1794) and had Andrew "Andy"Jackson Bright (1826-1910). Adam served in the War of 1812 andreceived a land grant in OH; Sarah, his widow, filed for a widow'spension at age 77 on 18 April 1872 in Decatur Co., IA.
