Luke Farmer was born in Bertie Co. North Carolina and was the son of
Joseph Farmer and Sarah Morris. He was named in Joseph Farmer's will
proved 1796. A King Farmer who was also in Henry County AL with Luke was
named in the will as well. He is Luke's brother. I had believed Milburn
Farmer, of Henry Co. AL, to be Luke's son. This is not the case as he
is too old by a few years to be his son. He has to be Luke's nephew, as
Joseph Farmer and family were the only Farmers in Bertie County in the
1700's. As of yet I don't know which brother of his is the father.

John Mitchell, who Milburn was bound to, is the husband of Elizabeth
Farmer, Lukes sister.

Joseph Farmer wrote his will on July 1, 1789. The will was proved
November term 1796 Bertie Co. NC. In his will he left land to his sons
Luke, Joseph, and James. He left one shilling each to his sons William,
John, Josiah, and Jesse.

The remainder of his estate was to be equally divided between his widow
Sarah, son King, and daughters Elizabeth, Sarah, Winnie, Judah, and
Rachel. These 7 relations received five pounds, two shillings and eight
pence each.

Children were: Luke FARMER, King FARMER, Elizabeth FARMER, Joseph FARMER, James FARMER, William FARMER, John FARMER, Josiah FARMER, Jesse FARMER, Sarah FARMER, Winnie FARMER, Judah FARMER, Rachel FARMER.
